Do you remember your prom date?

Ugh...My "date" was my exhusband, the theme was Puttin On The Ritz, and it was held in our gym.
The year was 1977, it was held at the Ramada Inn in Cocoa Beach, and the theme was "The Long and Winding Road".
We had a prom? No one told me we were having a prom! I remember homecoming! Are you sure we had a prom? I can't believe I missed the prom. Could at have been when I had a crush on the '64 girls? No, that was later. What was the theme? Missed Again? Was it before or after the senior play? Well, I know who I would have asked!! As Phil Collins once said... "I Missed Again"! The girls of '65, "Best Alive"!! And ladies... you were then and still are today "The Best Alive"!!!!
I tried to forget my prom date. And I did by remembering the theme "We may never pass this way again" and we didn't!
I went to the prom with Bobbie Short -- she was a year older than I. Our mothers fixed us up. I don't remember the theme, but I seem to remember that Jimmy Clanton performed.
I had more fun at our graduation ball. When the regular band took a break, Larry Willis, Dave Ellinor, and I took over, and WE ROCKED THE HOUSE. We called ourselves the Envys, because we envied all the bands who'd made it.
Class of 82. We had our prom at DISNEY WORLD CONTEMPORARY RESORT HOTEL! I was awestruck. In the Ballroom! Four years of selling magazine subscriptions and chocolate bars. I went with Jon Cohen, the battalion commander (ROTC) from RHS. I was 3rd in command at CHS ROTC. I still remember Mr. Raul Montes' very pregnant wife, and the cold shrimp cocktails (fancy stuff when you're 17). Oh, what a night! I do not remember the theme. I probably still have the napkin in my scrapbook. Somewhere. In a box.

Aw yes...prom.Class of '77. How could I forget that night. I went with Charlette Chlore, a secretary at the high school. I was in heaven. We doubled with Toby Hutton and his date. Almost did not happen thou. Miss Anderson was against her going to the prom with a student, but we went together anyways. I looked quite handsome I must say. It's funny what a tuxedo can do for a guy. There was a fashion snofu thou...Dwight Barrett and I had the same tux. We both farted around getting them and ended up going to titusville and getting them and all they had left were 2 purple tuxes. So, it was Mr tall and the short guy. Charlette and I had a blast. I danced like I always did back then. A regular Travolta I was. It was a memorable night indeed. When it was over I thanked her for going with me even after being told she should'nt. I think she did it out of pity cause I really never had a date lined up. She felt sorry for me I'm sure. It sure has been "A Long and Winding Road" since then..................................................................GOOD TIMES!
